Highlights
Serving Lunch at the Shelter
Hanover Valley Church prepares and serves lunch at the shelter across the street several times a year. The next opportunity is coming on Mother’s Day, May 13th. The Mercy Team is looking for folks willing to serve in simple ways with setting up, cooking, and cleaning up. The sign-up sheet is located on the table in the Great Room. For questions, please contact Bonnie Harrity at 717-630-2771.
Chalk It Up
This annual street art event will be happening downtown from 10:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 12th. Hanover Valley is joining the fun in two ways: One way is to sign up and do a chalk art on the side walk that day. Details are online HERE The second way to get involved is by serving at the event with the organizers. There is a sign-up sheet in the Great Room for anyone who has a couple of hours to be a part of what's great about Hanover and to make some friends in the name of Christ and his church.
Art in the Park
There will be an art and music festival will be happening at Wirt Park on Saturday, June 23rd. Mark your calendars now for this community event!
Adult Workshop
Reaching out to people in our lives is scary. How do you know what to
do and when or if you should do anything at all? Nobody has all the know-how or confidence to engage everyone. Strategies are ackaged and inauthentic. Curriculum is cold and too generic. Methods and seminars are complicated and require lots of training. BUT - anyone can serve and it has unexpected power. Daniel guides us in enveloping simple and real servant relationships that don't belittle or treat people like projects. This class began today and will continue through June 17th. Class will not meet on May 13th.
Children’s Musical Performance
An evening of princesses, knights, dragons, and a carpenter await you on Friday, May 18th at 7:00 P.M. Join us as the Kids Under Construction team and community children perform Happily Forever After and tell the tale of Princess Pride, Sir Brags-A-Lot, and the Carpenter as they journey to The Shining Kingdom and encounter Dragon Doom! The musical will be preceded by a piano prelude at 6:45. We can’t wait to see you there!
